About the Conference

ICETEST 2023 is the seventh edition of ICETEST which is a collegium of three conferences: (i) International Conference on Civil Engineering & Architecture for Sustainable Infrastructure Development and Environment (CEASIDE2023), (ii) International Conference on Recent Advances in Materials, Processes and Technology for Sustainability (RAMPTS2023) and (iii) International Conference on Power, Instrumentation, Control and Computing (PICC2023) organized by Government Engineering College Thrissur from the year 2009. Ever since the first edition, the conference has received overwhelming response from academicians, scientists and researchers all over the world and has become a global platform to present, share and discuss their research findings in various fields of science, engineering and technology. Based on the awe-inspiring success of the past six editions, the present edition of the biennial International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering, Science and Technology, ICETEST 2023 is scheduled to be organized from 19th to 21st April 2023 in hybrid mode. The conference CEASIDE 2023 is coordinated by the department of Civil Engineering and School of Architecture and Planning; RAMPTS 2023 by the departments of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering; and PICC 2023 is coordinated by the departments of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Master of Computer Applications.

Theme of ICETEST 2023

The conflict between combustion-based energy generation and environmental degradation is of global significance that poses threat to the very existence of the present society as well as future generations. It is the responsibility of the research community to support the society through socially and environmentally sustainable solutions to these impending issues. In view of the above, ICETEST 2023 is organized with the theme “Society, Energy and Environment – showcasing the roadmap for tomorrow”.

Government Engineering College, Thrissur- An Overview

Government Engineering College, Thrissur (GEC, Thrissur), Kerala an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution is one of the most prestigious and reputed technical education institution in Kerala. The college is the second oldest engineering institution in the state of Kerala and was established in the year 1957 with under graduate programmes in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering . The college is the fifth top technical institutions in the state of Kerala and has figured in the list of top 156 engineering institutions in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021. All UG programmes and most of the PG programmes offered by the college have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India. The foundation stone of the main building of the college was laid down by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, former Honorable Prime Minister of India. The college campus spread over an area of 75 acres is located at Ramavarmapuram 5 km from Thrissur city and about 50 km from Cochin International Airport. From the humble beginning with three UG engineering programmes in 1957, the institution has made substantial progress by way of offering eight undergraduate programmes and eighteen post graduate programmes and doctoral programmes in various engineering disciplines and architecture with an intake of around 1200 students per annum. The college has very renowned and accomplished Alumni, many of them are nationally and internationally acclaimed professionals, scientists, CEO’s and entrepreneurs like Dr.K.Radhakrishnan, ( Former Chairman, ISRO), Dr.Tessy Thomas (India’s missile women) etc. Currently the college is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala and is a quality improvement programme(QIP) centre approved by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.
